Linet Wairimu Ng'ang'a

Linet Wairimu Ng'ang'a is at Balliol College (Rhodes Scholar) and joined the group in 2024 working on New scalable Layered Double Hydroxides for Direct Air Capture (DAC).

Previously, she studied the adsorption of Ibuprofen on Graphene and Graphene Oxide using molecular dynamics simulations for her final year research project, graduating from Kenyatta University with a BSc degree in Analytical Chemistry with Management.

Subsequently, Linet worked as an Analytical Chemist at Octavia Carbon, the first company in the global south to build and deploy DAC machines to mitigate climate change. She proactively designed tests to evaluate material properties, performance, and suitability for DAC while fostering an industry-academia collaboration on this research frontier.

When she's not in the lab, you will find Linet enjoying table tennis, walking, Journaling, coding and church.
