Joe Abell was a Part II student at New College, working on the synthesis and characterisation of unsymmetrical permethylindenyl zirconium complexes and their use in ethylene polymerisation. Outside of the lab, he enjoyed watching football, listening to music, drinking whisky and playing the occasional game of squash.
