Emma Southall

Researcher

Emma is at Keble College and joined the O'Hare group as a DPhil student in October 2022. Her project involves developing LDH catalysts for carbon dioxide conversion.

Emma completed her MChem degree at the University of St Andrews, undertaking an industrial placement year in Johnson Matthey’s Technology Centre. Here, she worked on the identification of performance controlling factors for the design and development of heterogeneous catalysts. For her Masters project, Emma returned to St Andrews and, under the supervision of Prof. Paul Wright, worked on modifying metal-organic frameworks for carbon capture applications.

Outside of chemistry, Emma enjoys spending time with friends, travelling and visiting new coffee shops.
