Chunping Chen joined  the group in June 2013. In 2008, she graduated with BEng from Xiamen University in China. In 2013, she obtained PhD from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, where she focused on the design and development of functional LDH nanomaterials for advanced applications under supervision of Prof. Xu Rong. 

In Oxford, she is working on multifunctional LDHs in collaboration with SCG Chemicals. In 2019, she became SCG Programme Manager - LDH, establishing the new projects and managing the existing SCG research projects. She is the co-author of 31 papers and co-inventor on 10 patent applications.

When not in the lab, she loves travelling and exploring different countries, enjoys gardening and Chinese cross-stitch making.
